
Managing Energy Resources - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 6.11B
This project-based lesson helps middle school students meet the 2021 TEKS 6.11B standard by exploring concepts related to managing energy resources. Students choose how they demonstrate their learning using a choice board that includes six project options plus a “design your own” pathway. This approach allows learners to select the output style that best matches their strengths and interests.
An editable grading rubric is provided and may be used for teacher grading, peer feedback, or student self-assessment. Teachers can modify the rubric to meet specific classroom or district requirements.

Differentiation
Two versions of the choice board are included:

Modified Version: Three project options are scaffolded to provide extra support for students needing remediation

Extension Opportunities: Advanced learners can be assigned multiple projects while being evaluated with the same rubric for consistency
This design makes it easy to adjust the project to a wide range of learning needs.
Supplies Needed
Projects are designed for completion with standard classroom materials such as paper, markers, and scissors. Many options can also be completed digitally, and optional craft supplies may be used for model-building or creative extensions.
This is a finished product; it will be updated with corrections as needed. Future improvements and new features will be sold as a separate product.
