
Photosynthesis - Student Choice Projects - MS
This project-based lesson allows middle school students to demonstrate their understanding of photosynthesis through student-directed projects. A choice board presents six structured project options plus a “design your own” pathway, giving learners the flexibility to select the format that best matches their strengths, creativity, and learning preferences.
An editable grading rubric is included and can be used for teacher evaluation, peer feedback, or student self-assessment. The rubric can also be modified to align with classroom or district grading requirements.

Differentiation
Two versions of the project page are provided to support a variety of student needs:

Challenge Options: Teachers may assign multiple projects for advanced learners while still using the same rubric for consistent evaluation
This flexible design ensures that students at all levels can succeed.
Supplies Needed
Projects are designed for completion with common classroom materials such as paper, markers, and scissors. Many project formats can also be completed digitally, while optional craft supplies may be used for model-building or other creative extensions.
