
Digestive System Functions - Student Choice Projects, MS - New 2021 TEKS 7.13A
This project-based lesson helps middle school students meet the 2021 TEKS 7.13A standard by exploring the functions of the digestive system. A choice board provides six structured project options plus a “design your own” pathway, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding in a way that best fits their strengths, creativity, and learning style.
An editable grading rubric is included, which may be used by teachers, peers, or students for self-assessment. The rubric is fully customizable, giving teachers flexibility to adapt it to classroom or district grading expectations.

Differentiation
Two versions of the project page are included:

This design ensures the activity can be easily adapted to meet the needs of diverse learners in the same classroom.
Supplies Needed
Projects are designed for use with common classroom supplies such as paper, markers, and scissors. Many projects can also be completed digitally, while optional craft supplies may be incorporated for model-building or other creative extensions.
