Topical Digital Inquiry Labs Bundle - Grades 6-8

$714.78

Want INTERACTIVE and FLEXIBLE LAB DAYS – ALL YEAR? Engage your students with virtual, interactive activities or let them conduct hands-on experiments. Both versions include comprehension questions, Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) prompts, and a reflection section. Three levels of engagement and rigor!

This product bundle includes 94 science middle school investigative labs, covering Earth, Life and Physical sciences topics.

What's Included in Each Lab:

Every lab includes a complete teacher answer key and six versions (three leveled, digital versions and three leveled, printed versions).

Print Version:

These in-person laboratory experiments with hands-on procedures are meant to be printed out for student use. Each student should fill out their own sheet, even if they work in groups.

Materials Needed:

A materials list is included in each lab’s teacher answer key file (list is also on the TpT page for each individual inquiry lab.)

Digital Version:

These completely virtual, interactive PowerPoint files are compatible with Google Slides and can be attached to assignments in MS Teams, Schoology, Canvas, etc.

The digital component for each lab includes one or more of the following:

  • a procedural video where students follow along with a teacher demo or
  • a science game to demonstrate a science principle and/or
  • interactivity built directly into the student digital file

*Note: Links to videos and games are included in digital files and teacher keys.

Materials Needed:

None! Don’t have materials? Students absent? Interactive virtual activities linked right inside the file give the students a way to experience science.

Three Differentiated Labs

Within each format (print and digital), labs are further separated into three levels:

  • Dependent – Suggested for on-level learners. This level is written with a combination of procedural instructions and inquiry questions. They are moderately student-centered with guided inquiry questions throughout the lab.
  • Modified – Suggested for learners using accommodations. This level provides the most structured lab experience. The lessons may eliminate parts of the lab and change the questioning to include sentence stems or multiple-choice options.
  • Independent – Suggested for advanced learners. This level is the most student-led experience. Suggestions are made for the students to get started, but most of the decisions will be student-centered. The students will be responsible for most aspects of the lab and will have the least guidance.
