This modular, student-led activity is fully aligned with TEKS 2021 standard 8.10B and will keep your middle schoolers engaged while exploring global patterns of atmospheric movement. With everything included, you’ll save a ton of prep time while giving your students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning.

In this interactive lab, students will identify global atmospheric patterns and explain how they influence local weather. Perfect for in-class or virtual learning, this flexible resource helps learners connect large-scale science concepts to the weather they see every day.


Differentiated, Modular, and Student-Centered

Each lab includes nine differentiated activities, creating a personalized learning experience for all students. Teachers act as facilitators while students work independently or collaboratively to build their knowledge.

All signage, resources, and task cards are provided. The Explore It! station may require a few simple classroom materials you already have.

Input Stations – Learn the Concepts

  • Explore It! – Hands-on demo or digital drag-and-drop in PowerPoint/Google Slides

  • Read It! – Differentiated passages (English & Spanish) with vocabulary and comprehension practice

  • Research It! – Facts, images, and graphs with guided lab sheet activities

Output Stations – Show Understanding

  • Organize It! – Printable or digital card sorts/manipulatives

  • Illustrate It! – Sketches or diagrams to reinforce understanding of atmospheric patterns

  • Write It! – Open-ended short-answer prompts

  • Assess It! – Task cards + vocabulary-in-context activity
