Muscular System Functions - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 7.13A

This project-based lesson helps middle school students meet the 2021 TEKS 7.13A standard by exploring the functions of the muscular system. A choice board provides six structured project options plus a “design your own” pathway, giving students the flexibility to demonstrate their knowledge in the way that best matches their strengths, interests, and creativity.

An editable grading rubric is included, which can be used by teachers, peers, or students for self-assessment. The rubric is also fully customizable, allowing teachers to adapt it to classroom or district grading expectations.

Differentiation

Two versions of the project page are provided:

This ensures the activity can be tailored to meet the needs of all learners in the classroom.

Supplies Needed

Projects are designed to use common classroom supplies such as paper, markers, and scissors. Many can also be completed digitally, and optional craft supplies may be incorporated for hands-on model-building or creative extensions.
