This modular, student-led activity is the perfect way to keep your middle school class engaged while exploring the structure and function of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. With everything ready to go, you’ll save a ton of prep time while allowing students to direct their own learning.

In this interactive station lab, students will identify and compare the characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells through hands-on, written, visual, and digital activities.

Texas Teachers: This lab aligns with the 2017 TEKS (not updated for the 2021 TEKS).

Differentiated, Modular, and Student-Centered

Each lab includes eight core stations plus a ninth challenge station for early finishers. This structure ensures a personalized learning experience for every student. The teacher serves as a facilitator, while students work independently or in small groups to guide their own learning.

All signage, readings, task cards, and resources are included. The Explore It! station may require a few basic lab materials you likely already have on hand.

Designed for today’s classrooms, this station lab works seamlessly in both in-person and virtual settings, with files fully compatible with PowerPoint and Google Slides.
