Rate of Dissolution - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 7.6E
Engage your middle school students with creative, student-led projects that explore the rate of dissolution and the factors that affect how substances dissolve.
Aligned with 2021 TEKS standard 7.6E, this resource gives students the opportunity to choose a project format that fits their learning style, encouraging ownership, critical thinking, and creativity while demonstrating understanding of key chemistry concepts.
The project choice board includes six ready-to-use student-led options plus a “design your own” project, giving students freedom to explore dissolution through writing, modeling, research, or digital creation.
An editable grading rubric makes it simple for teachers, peers, or students themselves to assess vocabulary, content knowledge, clarity, presentation, and accuracy.
Flexible, Creative, and Student-Centered
The Student Choice Projects are designed for maximum flexibility and differentiation, making them adaptable to any classroom environment.
Teachers can customize the rubric to meet their grading preferences, while students engage in multimodal project options—visual, written, digital, or hands-on—to show what they know about the rate of dissolution and factors that influence it, such as temperature, particle size, and stirring.
This structure promotes critical thinking, creativity, and independence, giving every learner the opportunity to demonstrate mastery in their own way.
