Properties of Acids & Bases - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 8.6D
Engage your middle school students in chemistry with these creative, student-led choice projects on the properties of acids and bases, aligned with 2021 TEKS standard 8.6D.
This flexible resource allows students to choose a project format that best fits their learning and output style, encouraging independence, creativity, and deeper understanding of how acids and bases are identified and used.
The project choice board features six student-led options plus a “design your own” project, allowing students to demonstrate mastery through writing, design, research, or presentation.
An editable grading rubric makes it easy for teachers, peers, or students themselves to assess performance based on vocabulary, concepts, clarity, and presentation quality.
Flexible, Creative, and Student-Centered
The Student Choice Projects are designed for maximum flexibility and differentiation, making it easy to adapt for any classroom.
Teachers can modify the rubric to suit grading needs, while students select multimodal project options—digital, visual, written, or hands-on—that let them show what they know about the properties and pH levels of acids and bases.
This approach encourages critical thinking, creativity, and student ownership, while meeting the needs of diverse learners.
