Processes in the Rock Cycle - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 6.10C
This project-based lesson helps middle school students meet the 2021 TEKS 6.10C standard by exploring the processes within the rock cycle. Using a choice board, students select from six structured project options or design their own, giving them the flexibility to demonstrate understanding in a way that best fits their strengths and creativity.
An editable grading rubric is included, which can be used for teacher grading, peer evaluation, or student self-assessment. The rubric is fully customizable so it can be adapted to classroom or district requirements.
What’s Included
-
Choice Board: Nine student project options, including a “design your own” project
-
Teacher Directions Page: Guidance and support for implementation
-
Editable Rubrics: Assess vocabulary, concepts, presentation, clarity, and accuracy
Differentiation
Two versions of the project page are provided to support a wide range of learners:
-
Modified Version: Three project options are scaffolded to assist students who need remediation or extra support
