Reproduction & Offspring Diversity Station Lab - New TEKS 7.13C

This modular, student-led station lab is designed to fully align with 2021 TEKS 7.13C and will keep your middle schoolers engaged while learning about asexual and sexual reproduction. With ready-to-use materials, you’ll save hours of prep time while giving students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning.

In this lab, students will compare the results of asexual and sexual reproduction in plants and animals and explore how these processes contribute to offspring diversity and population changes over time. Perfect for both in-class and virtual learning!

Differentiated, Modular, and Student-Centered

Each lab includes nine stations that provide students with a personalized learning experience. Teachers serve as facilitators while students explore, create, and apply knowledge independently or in small groups.

All signage, readings, task cards, and resources are included. The Explore It! station may require a few simple materials you already have in your lab.

Input Stations – Learn New Concepts

• Explore It! – Hands-on activity or demo; digital version includes drag-and-drop in PowerPoint or Google Slides

• Watch It! – Short video with guiding questions

• Read It! – Differentiated reading passages (English & Spanish) + comprehension and vocabulary questions

• Research It! – Facts, images, and graphs with related questions on lab sheets

Output Stations – Demonstrate Understanding

• Organize It! – Printable or digital card sorts/manipulatives

• Illustrate It! – Students sketch or model concepts for visual reinforcement

• Write It! – Short-answer prompts with complete sentence responses

• Assess It! – Task cards + vocabulary-in-context writing

Bonus Station – Challenge It!
Enrichment for early finishers or advanced learners with crosswords, games, and mini-projects
