
Characteristics of Kingdoms - Student Choice Projects, MS, New TEKS 7.14B
This project-based lesson helps middle school students meet the 2021 TEKS 7.14B standard by exploring the characteristics of the six kingdoms of life and their roles in ecosystems. A choice board outlines six structured project options plus a “design your own” pathway, giving students the flexibility to showcase their knowledge in a way that best suits their learning style, creativity, and strengths.
An editable grading rubric is included and can be used for teacher evaluation, peer review, or self-assessment. The rubric is fully customizable, making it easy to adapt to your classroom grading expectations.

This flexible design ensures that all students can meaningfully engage with the material.
Supplies Needed
Projects are designed to use common classroom supplies such as paper, scissors, and markers. Many projects can also be completed digitally, and optional craft supplies may be used for building models or other creative extensions.
